Woodberry Down Children & Family Hub

Rivington Street Studio was appointed by the London Borough of Hackney to expand and enhance the Woodberry Down Children & Family Hub, a vital community resource providing essential services to local families.

At the heart of the project is the listed ‘Nursery Building’, an annex of the John Scott Health Centre and one of Britain’s first purpose-built facilities of its kind. Developed in close collaboration with the building users, the project introduces two contemporary extensions that bookend the original architecture and provide high-quality, flexible spaces that support a wide range of services. The design respects the building’s heritage while enhancing both is functionality and accessibility, ensuring the hub remains a vibrant welcoming space for families for years to come.
