Budoch Court is a London Borough of Redbridge-owned housing estate, located in a residential area close to Goodmayes Station. It was identified for new development as part of the Council’s affordable homes programme, which aims to address urgent local need by providing 600 new Council-funded homes in the borough by 2023.
Our proposal will provide 20 new homes for social rent, accommodated in single storey roof extensions to existing blocks and a new building at the estate’s edge. There will be a high proportion of family homes, along with wheelchair-accessible homes. The new buildings are designed to be sympathetic in scale, material and detail to the existing estate.
The estate’s open spaces will be comprehensively remodelled to reduce car-dominance and provide a more pedestrian-friendly environment. Existing mature trees will be augmented with new trees and landscaping, children’s play facilities and allotments. With a stronger central shared access, the estate will provide new opportunity for recreation and interaction for all existing and new residents.
